Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 lb boneless chuck, cut into 1" cubes
  • 1 lb button mushrooms, quartered
  • 1 lg yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c guiness beer
  • 1 c beef broth\
  • 1/4 c mushroom demi glaze
  • 1 bouquet garni
  • salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1 bag (14 oz) frozen pearl onions, thawed
  • 1 1/4 lb carrots, peeled cut into 1" pieces
  • 1 c fresh peas
  • 6 c mashed potaotes
  • 1/2 c grated cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat and transfer to casserole dish
Put all the ingrediants into the pan that browned the meat with flour and add the guiness, herbs etc and stir.

after cooking for a couple of hours turn on the broiler and add the mash potatoes to the top and place unter broiler sprinkle with cheese cook for 15 min
