Cherry Cobbler

This recipe is from my mother-in-law, Edith Smith Ross. She loves to use fresh, seasonal fruits to make cobblers all year long.

Ingredients
- 1 qt. Cherries
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 3/4 cup Flour (Self-Rising)
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 stick Margarine
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1 tsp. Vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Mix 1/4 cup of sugar with cherries; set aside.
Melt margarine in a 9x9 casserole dish. Mix remaining 3/4 cup sugar and flour together; add egg and milk; add vanilla. Pour melted margarine into batter and mix well. Pour final mixture into baking dish. Top with cherry mixture.
Bake 45 minutes at 350°F.
