Raspberry-Balsamic Sauce

Ingredients

  • SWEAT:
  • 1 ⁄2 cup minced shallots1⁄2 cup
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil1 Tbsp.
  • WHISK IN:
  • 1 cup tomato sauce1 cup
  • 1 cup seedless raspberry jam1 cup
  • 1 ⁄4 cup each balsamic and red wine vinegar1⁄4 cup
  • 2 tsp. each Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce2 tsp.
  • Salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste

Preparation

1 cup tomato sauce1 cup
1 cup seedless raspberry jam1 cup
1⁄4 cup each balsamic and red wine vinegar1⁄4 cup
2 tsp. each Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce2 tsp.
Salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste

Sweat shallots in oil in a saucepan over medium heat until softened, 2–3 minutes.

Whisk in tomato sauce, jam, balsamic and red wine vinegars, Dijon, and Worcestershire. Simmer sauce 10 minutes, then season with salt, black pepper, and pepper flakes.
