Slow Cooker Barbecue Turkey

  • 4 bone in turkey thights (4 lbs) skin removed
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 TBSP paprika
  • 1 TBSP dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp Salt and Pepper.
  • Rub spice mixture all over meat. Spice rubbed turkey can be covered and refridgerated up to 1 day ahead.



Step 1

In slow cooker combine
1 cup water
¼ cup cider vinegar
Place turkey in single layer, overlapping pieces slightly if necessary. Cover and cook on low for6 hours or on high 3 hours.

Make this or use BBQ sauce:
In a 2 quart sauce pan, combine ketchup, ¼ cup ¼ cup cider vinegar, 1 TBSP paprika
2 TBSP brown sugar
¼ tsp cayenne
2 TBSP water
Heat to boiling on medium, stirring, then reduce to maintain steady simmer, cook 5 minutes until thickened.
