DUMP CAKE

  • 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple in heavy syrup
  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (2 layer size) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (3 oz) can (1 cup) chopped pecans
  • ½ cup butter or margarine, chilled

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Grease 9x13 baking pan. Spread the pineapple with its syrup evenly in prepared pan. Spoon the pie filling evenly over the pineapple. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruits. Sprinkle the chopped nuts over all. Slice the butter into thin slices and put the pieces evenly over the top. Bake for 50 minutes or until golden. Serve warm.

This can also be made with different fruit combinations: Pineapple/strawberry; pineapple/apple; apple/cherry; etc.
