Pecan Crisps


My mom made these when I was a little girl. They are so good. An old-timey recipe, for sure.

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped



Step 1

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and egg yolk. Add dry ingredients and 1/2 cup pecans. Mix well.

Press into greased 13x9x2" pan. Brush top with slightly beaten egg whites. Sprinkle with remaining chopped pecans.

Bake at 350 about 25 minutes.

Cut into bars while still warm. Remove from pan.
