Raw Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 t cloves or 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 c finely diced apples.

Preparation

Step 1

>Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to batter. Batter will be vey stiff and hard to work in last of flour.
>Add apples and mix well.
>Spoon into greased and floured 9 X 12 inch pan
>Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

Serve with whipped cream or topping below:

Topping:

1 c brown sugar
1/2 c chopped nuts
2 tbs soft butter

Mis ingredients well and sprinkle over batter before baking.
