Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lbs lean hamburger
  • 2T olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 or 2 large onions, diced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 Bay leaf (2 if small)
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 can (small) tomato paste
  • 2 (14 ½ oz) cans diced tomatoes
  • 2- 8 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 2T sugar
  • 2T fresh grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 t salt

Preparation

Step 1

Brown hamburger in olive oil; add onion and garlic,
cook until tender. Add remainder of ingredients and
simmer covered, in heavy pot all day.
