Ingredients
- CRUST
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cups Lard
- 2 Egg Yolks
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1/4 cup Cold Water
- FILLING
- 4-6 Tart Apples, Cored/Peeled/Sliced
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons Flour
- TOPPING
- 1 cup Confectioners Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons Milk
Preparation
Step 1
CRUST
1. Sift Flour with salt, cut in LARD.
2. Mix in egg yolks, lemon juice, and water. Sprinke over flour mixture and blend together.
3. Divide into 2 parts.
4. Roll out on floured board, roll out to the size of 13X9 Pan
5. Arrange apple slices in CRUST lined pan
6. Mix filling ingredients (Sugar, Flour, Cinnamon) and sprinkle over apples
7. Roll out remaining pastry. Place on top and crimp edges . Cut slits into top to let out steam.
8. Bake 400 Degrees for 30-40 minutes.
9. While warm, make the topping and drizzle over the top of Crust.
