Ingredients
- 3/4 lb mixed salad greens
- Balsamic vinaigerette
- 4 oz blue cheese crumbs
- 2 oranges peeled sectioned and quartered
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, quartered
- Sweet-and Spicy pecans
- Ingredients for vinergarette
- 1/2 c balsamic vinegar
- 3 tbs dijon mustard
- 3 tbs honey
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 small shallotts mince
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 cup olive oil
- Ingredients for Pecans
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp ground red pepper
Preparation
Step 1
For Salad:
>Toss greens with desired amount of Balsamic Vinaigrette. Toss in blue cheese and remaining ingredients.
For Vinaigrette:
>Whisk together first 7 ingredients untill blended. Gradually whisk in olive oil.
For Pecans:
>Stir together 1/4 c sugar and 1 cup warm water until sugar dissolves. Add pecans and soak 10 minutes. Drain and discard syrup.
>Combine 2 tbs sugar, chil powder, and red pepper. Add pecans tossing to coat. Place pecans on a baking sheet.
>Bake at 350 for 10 minutes stirring once.
