CARAMEL POPCORN MARILYN'S

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups unpopped popcorn
  • Peanuts
  • Pecans
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 box light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light Karo syrup
  • Pinch of cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Mix popcorn, peanuts and pecans in large roasting pan or oblong cake pan. Combine in 3 quart saucepan, two sticks butter or margarine, brown sugar, Karo syrup, and cream of tartar. Heat at medium heat until boiling. Boil hard for 5 minutes. Stir frequently using a wooden spoon. Remove from heat. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda. Pour over popcorn mixture and stir to coat. Bake at 250 degrees for one hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
