Salad with creamy ranch dressing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Louisiana-style hot sauce
  • Black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp chopped chives, plus more for serving
  • 1 head Boston or Bibb lettuce, leaves tor
  • 1 bunch arugala, thick stems discarded and leaves torn
  • 1 lb small plum tomatoes, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 seedless cucumber, cut into thin half-moons

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, buttermilk, lemon juice, garlic, hot sauce and 1/4 tsp pepper; stir in the chives.
2. In a large bowl, toss together the lettuce, arugula, tomatoes and cucumbers. Drizzle with the dressing and sprinkle with additional chives, if desired.
