Ingredients

  • 1 batch cake mix, (any flavor, I used rainbow chip)
  • 1 batch cookie mix (again, any flavor, I used chocolate chip)
  • 1 can frosting, (any flavor, I used rainbow chip for additional rich goodness.)
  • 1 frozen pie crust.

Preparation

Step 1

First prepare one batch of chocolate chip cookie dough. You can leave in fridge or put to the side while you prepare the rest.

Next prepare a single pie crust and line it into a pie plate. The frozen pie crust works great and is ALOT less work.

Place cookie dough inside of the pie crust and using your fingers or a spoon, spreadh it so that it evenly coats the bottom of the crust. Mine was about an inch thick with enough dough left over for 3 or 4 big cookies.

Preheat the oven to about 350 degrees.

Mix up the birthday cake per the instructions on the box.

Pour cake batter directly on top of the cookie dough til the pie crust is about 2/3 filled. The case will rise so you will want to leave room for that. There will likely be some batter left over. (I was able to to use 1 cake mix for 2 pies)

Put this in the oven and check about about 25 minutes. Keep checking evey 5 minutes until batter is fully cooked and edges are golden brown. (about 45 minutes - ish)

Let cool and frost generously. Done be shy now. My frosting was about an inch thick. This is not time for moderations.

Decorate as desired.
