Spaghetti Pie

Ingredients

  • Filling:
  • Prego pasta sauce with mushrooms (4lb, 3oz size)
  • 1 cup Chianti red wine
  • Sugar to taste
  • Hamburger browned
  • Crust:
  • 12 oz. vermicelli, cooked and drained
  • 1 clove of garlic- chopped
  • 1/3 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of Parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 2 tbsp. of fresh basil
  • Other:
  • 2 cups of ricotta cheese
  • 12 oz. of shredded mozzarella

Preparation

Step 1

To make crust, combined vermicelli with other crust ingredients. Chop mixture with a knife and press into 2 10 inch pie plates.

To make filling, simmer Prego, Chianti and sugar until flavors blend and the sauce is heated thoroughly.

To assemble pie: Spreak ricotta cheese on "crust" then top with a layer of sauce ("filling") and cover with mozzerella.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until golden brown
