Chocolate Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 9" Pie Shell

Preparation

Step 1

Combine in top of double boiler, cocoa, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Slowly stir in milk - let get warm and then slowly add beaten egg yolks - Stir constantly.

When desired thickness is achieved, stir in vanilla and butter (margarine). Pour into 9" Pie Crust.

Can use 5 heaping Tbsp of flour in place of cornstarch and 3 to 4 heaping Tbsp of cocoa.
