Ingredients

  • MEATBALLS
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 lb. extra-lean ground beef or fresh lean
  • ground turkey
  • 3/4 cup Progresso" Plain Bread Crumbs
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • NOODLES
  • 8 oz. (4 cups) uncooked egg noodles
  • SAUCE
  • 2/3 cup crushed gingersnap cookies (about 10)
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 bay leaf

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 450°F. Line 15xl0xl-inch
baking pan with foil. In large bowl, combine
egg and milk; blend well. Stir in all remaining
meatball ingredients; mix well. Shape into
48 (1-inch) meatballs. Place in lined pan.

2. Bake at 450°F. for 12 to 15 minutes or until
lightly browned and no longer pink in center.

3. Meanwhile, cook noodles to desired
doneness as directed on package.

4. In medium saucepan, combine all sauce
ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil. Cook,
stirring occasionally, until thickened.

5.Remove bay leaf from sauce; stir in
remaining meatballs. Drain noodles; serve
meatballs and sauce over noodles.
