Ingredients

  • 1 CUP SHORTENING
  • 3/4 C. SUGAR
  • 1 EGG
  • 1 TSP ALMOND EXTRACT
  • FEW DROPS OF FOOD COLORING (OPTIONAL)
  • 2 1/4 C. ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 1/4 TSP BAKING POWDER
  • 1/4 TSP SALT

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar well. Beat in egg, extract and food coloring. (I use this to make
little Christmas trees so I use green). Gradually blend in dry ingredients, which have been
sifted together. Mix well. Fill cookie press and form cookies on ungreased sheet. I sprinkle
these with some colored sugar. Bake at 350 for 7-10 minutes. Every different oven I've had,
I've had to adjust the time, so watch closely until you figure how much time they actually
need. Cool on racks
