Chocolate Chip Cookies
By nelly
I have had many requests for this cookie recipe. The cookies are not flat and crunchy, but rather more rounded. Some times I add special extras like mini semi-sweet M&Ms in place of all or part of the chocolate chips. I have been using this recipe for over 25 years!

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix thoughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
**For a softer rounder cookie, add 1/2 cup flour--(I always do this).
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 mins or until light brown.....for soft cookies, be careful not to overbake. Tops may not be brown, look at the edges of the cookies.
Cool on pan for 3 or 4 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool.
If using the mini M&Ms, use part M&Ms and part choc chips, or all M&Ms, to taste :o)
Some times I use less than 2 cups if they seem too chocolately, if that is possible!!
