Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 large can tomatoes, diced
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 4 oz can mushrooms, sliced or pieces & stems
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Filling:
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup parmasean cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 box lasagne noodles

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat and onions. Drain off fat. Combine all the other sauce ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, 40-45 minutes. Cool slightly.
Sprread 1/2 the sauce on bottom of lasagne pan (13X9). Top with noodles. Combine the 2 cups of ricotta cheese with 1 egg. Spread 1/2 the cheese mixture over the noodles. Spread 1/2 of the remaining meat sauce over the cheese. Top with 1/2 cup of parmasean cheese and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Top with more noodles. Spread 1 cup ricatta cheese, then the remaining meat sauce, 1/2 cup of parmasean cheese and 1 cup mozz cheese. Baje at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
