Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1 C sugar
- 1 C jam (Smucker's blackberry)
- 2 C flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 C pecans, chopped
- 1/2 C buttermilk
- 1/2 C butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 C sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 12 oz can Pet milk
- 1/2 C butter
- 2 T flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. Cool before icing cake.
Preparation
Step 1
Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well and add jam and buttermilk. Add sifted dry ingredients. Bake in three 9" pans or a 9 x 13" pan slightly greased at 350 °F for 30-45 minutes. Cool and ice with cooled filling.
