Moms Sauce for Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 can of cream of celery or chicken soup
  • water to cover.
  • 2 cups vegetables fresh or frozen of your choosing ( potatoes, carrots, celery, onion)
  • 2 cups cooked cubed chicken or turkey

Preparation

Step 1

Cook vegetables until tender and set aside.

In large sauce pan, heat oil and add flour.
Stir constantly for 2 minutes.
Add can of cream of celery or chicken soup.
Cook until thick.
Stir in vegetables and meat.
In casserole dish add filling mix of vegetables and chicken. Top with water.

Top with drop biscuits.

Bake at 400 F for 20 - 30 minutes until filling is bubbly adn crust is golden. If topping gets too brown, cover with aluminum foil.
