Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/3 -1/2 cup chopped onion
- finely chopped or smashed garlic clove
- 1/3 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 2 slices bread- wet with milk or water so it will mix with meat easier
- salt, pepper to taste
- pinch or two of oregano to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Mix ingredients thoroughly. Form into about 20 med. meatballs. dip meatballs into plain flour and dust off. Cook in a large frying pan coated with olive oil, butter, or plain oil, or use a combination of the fats you prefer. Drain and serve as desired.
for Greek "hamburgers"- biftecki: Form meat mixture into 4 or 5 oval patties and fry like the keftedes, or grill outside ona charcoal grill till cooked to your taste. Serve on warm pita bread with tsaziki sauce and lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.
