Ingredients
- 1 stick (1⁄2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄4 tsp. salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
Preparation
Step 1
1. Beat butter, sugar and salt in a large bowl with mixer on medium-high until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
2. Reduce speed to medium and add egg; beat until combined. Beat in corn syrup and vanilla. Reduce speed to low and add flour in two parts. Shape dough into two disks, wrap and refrigerate 1 hour.
3. Heat oven to 350°F. Roll out 1 disk between 2 sheets of wax paper to 1⁄4 in. thick. Remove top layer of wax paper and cut out shapes using cookie cutters. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes or until cookies are golden. Transfer cookies to wire rack and cool completely.
