Ingredients

  • 1 frozen pie crust
  • 1 package dried beans (for pie shell cooking weight)
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup corn syrup
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tbsp bourbon
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan pieces

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the frozen pie crust with foil and fill with dried beans for weight. Bake 8-10 minutes. Remove the beans and cool the crust.

Combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, bourbon, vanilla and salt. Mix on medium speed for 1 minute or until blended. Set aside.

Combine butter and chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds. Add the melted chocolate and pecans to the sugar mixture. Pour the filling into the pie crust.

Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
