  • cups flour, plus more for pan

  • 1

    tsp salt

  • 1

cup Crisco, plus more for pan

  • ¼

    cup water, boiling

  • 1

    Tbsp whole milk, cold

Into a medium bowl, sift flour and salt. Sift again. Set aside. In a second medium sized bowl add Crisco, boiling water and cold whole milk. Mix until well blended, it should look like whipped cream (easily done with a flat wisk). Add the flour and salt mixture. Mix until dough well formed. Divide into two disks, wrap with wax paper and freeze or refrigerate. If you freeze it, thaw overnight in refrigerator or take out of freezer 2-3 hours before rolling. Grease pie plate with Crisco and then flour, until thin coating remains. Shake out excess flour. Roll dough between wax paper coated with flour and place in pie plate. Prick the bottom with a fork and decoratively press the edge.
