Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1/2 C butter
- 1 3/4 C quick cook oatmeal
- 1 1/2 C flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 C brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Cream butter and sugar. Add sifted dry ingredients plus oatmeal. Pat 1/2 of the mixture into wax paper-lined 9 x 13 pan. Spread date filling on top and follow with remainder of oatmeal topping.
- 1 # dates, pitted and cut in small pieces
- 1 C sugar
- 1 C water
- Cook on stove top to consistency of jam. Slightly cool before pouring over oatmeal crust.

Bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes.
