Mama's Eggnog (Paula Deen)

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 cups 2% milk
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon
  • 2 tbsp. vanilla
  • nutmeg (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a bowl beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar until thick.
2. In another bowl, beat the egg whites with 3/4 cup sugar sugar until thick.
3. In a third bowl, beat the cream until thick. Add the cream to the yolks, fold in the egg whites and add the milk, Bourbon, and vanilla. Chill in the freezer before serving. Serve with a touch of grated nutmeg if desired.
