Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, room temp
- 1-1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- Red or green sugar crystals, if desired
Preparation
Step 1
In a medium bowl, beat together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add cornstarch and flour, beating until blended. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. To bake cookies, preheat oven to 325 F. Shape dough into 1-1/2 inch balls. Roll in
colored sugar, if desired. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 12-15 mins, or until edges are golden brown. Cool 2-3 mins on baking sheet; then remove to racks for cooling.
Variation: Before baking, roll balls in flaked or shredded coconut instead of sugar crystals. Dough may also be tinted with food coloring before rolling into balls.
