Ingredients
- Mix thoroughly:
- 2 14oz cans sweetened condensed milk
- 2 12oz cans evaporated milk
- 4 large eggs + 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Prepare caramel:
- Put 1 1/2-2 C sugar in a non-stick fry pan with rounded edges. Cook slowly over medium heat until sugar melts. Stir constantly with wooden spoon until consistency of golden maple syrup.
Preparation
Step 1
Pour immediately into large shallow baking dish and turn to spread evenly. Put custard mixture over caramel and place dish in pan with lukewarm water.
Bake for 1 hour at 350 °F. Should be jiggly, not loose.
Cool for 30 minutes and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
Invert dish onto serving platter.
