Ingredients
- 1 head broccoli, about 1-1/2 lbs
- 1 bulb fennel, about 1/2 lb
- 2 cloves garlic
- Salt
- 1 tbsp butter/margarine
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Cut broccoli into small florets. Cut the fennel into thin slices. Mine garlic. In a lg frying pan filled with about 1/4 inch boiling salted water, cook broccoli until tender, 3-5 mins. Drain and set aside.
In the same pan, combine the butter and oil over med-high heat. When butter has melted, add fennel, garlic and 1/2 tsp salt. Cover, reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, until fennel is tender about 8 mins. Stir in broccoli, lemon juice (and pepper flakes). Cook vegetables until heated through, about 2 mins.
Place of serving platter and spoon sauce of vegs. Serve immediately.
