DOG BONES

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 2 tsp beef bouillon powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 cup hot water

Preparation

Step 1

Turn the oven on to 275. Combine the first 5 ingredients in the bowl. Stir.

Add the egg, cooking oil and water. Stir well. Roll out on a well-floured surface to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into bone shapes or other shapes. Arrange on the ungreased cookie sheet. Bake on the center rack in the oven for about 2 hours until dry and very hard. Use the oven mitts to remove the cookie sheet to the wire rack. Cool Let stand overnight to dry thoroughly. Store in a container with a lid. Makes 10 big dog bones and 14 puppy bones.
