Brownies - Martha Stewart

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. bittersweet chocolate
  • 9 oz butter
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 1 ¼ c. brown sugar
  • ½ c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 6 oz. chopped pecans (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325. Butter a 7x11.5 inch pan, and line with wax paper.

Melt the chocolate with the butter in a double boiler (or carefully over very low heat) and let cool slightly. Sift the dry ingredients together. Beat the eggs well. Gradually add the sugar to the eggs, then fold in the chocolate alternately with the dry ingredients. Add nuts. Do not overmix!

Bake for 40 to 45 mins.
