Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c cake flour
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 8 tbsp (1 stick butter)softened at room temp
- 1/3 c cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 c melted unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 c hot water
- 2 eggs, room temp
- 1/2 c buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
Pre-heat oven to 350F
Put flour, sugar, butter, cocoa, baking soda and baking powder in a bowl
Mix on slow to incorporate few sec then raise speed to low-med and continue to mix until smooth, 1 min
Pour chocolate, mix 1 min
Pour hot water, followed by eggs one at a time
Pour in buttermilk and mix on low-med speed for 1 min
Divide batter evenly
Bake until cakes begin to pull from sides of pan and is springy to the touch 25-30min
