Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 4 tsp. vanilla
- 1 bag miniature marshmallows
- 1/2 cup margarrine
- 2 cups chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 box (1 lb.) powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup canned milk
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together sugar and shortening until smooth. Add eggs, flour, 1/2 cup cocoa. Beat well after each addition. Add 3 teaspoons of the vanilla and add 1 cup of nuts. Spoon batter into pan. Bake 35 minutes or until done. Then arrange marshmallows evenly over cake while still hot. Return to oven and bake around 5 to 7 minutes until mallows melt. Remove from oven and cool. In large bowl, add 1/2 cup margarine, 1/2 cup cocoa, 1 tsp. vanilla, powdered sugar, milk and remaining nuts. Mix and spread on cooled cake. Let stand 2 hours and serve.
