Ingredients
- Brown Butter Icing:
- 1/2 cup butter (room temp.)
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-vegetable shortening
- 2 eggs (add one at a time)
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 t. ground cinnamon
- 1 t. ground ginger
- 1 t. nutmeg
- 1/2 t. all spice
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 t. ground cloves
- 2 1/2 cups cooking oats
- 1 1.2 cups chopped walnuts
- 1 cup rasins
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 t. vanilla
- 3 to 4 T. water

Step 1
Preheat Oven: 350 degrees
1. Comine: in order, all wet ingredients. Then, add all dry ingredients and last stir in the oats, walnuts, raisins, and vanilla.
2. Bake 8 minutes, cool for 2 minutes.
3. Brown Butter Icing: melt butter on the stove until golden brown. Remove from heat whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla. Then add water (depending on how thin you want the icing). Drizzle on top of each cookie.
