Sushi Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Japanese short grain rice
  • 2 tab. of sugar
  • 1 teas. of salt
  • 1/2 cup of rice vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare Sushi Rice: In 3 quart saucepan, heat rice, sugar, salt, and 2 1/2 cups water to boiling over high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Remove from heat and add vinegar. Keep warm. Working with rice, keep a small bowl of water nearby to keep hand damp.
