Noel Wreaths

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup white corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp maple flavoring
  • Candied red and green cherries

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy in large bowl. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour gradually, blending well to make a soft dough.

Measure out 1/4 cup dough and mix with walnuts, oorn syrup, and maple flavoring. Set aside for filling in next step.

Fit star plate or disk on cookie press. Fill with cookie dough. Press out lengths of dough about 4-inches in length on ungreased cookie sheet. Join ends to form a circle. Fill centers with about a teaspoon of syrup-nut mixture. Decorate with tiny bow of cut red and green cherries.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until goilden in color. Remove carefully from cookie sheet and let cool on wire racks. Store in contaoiner with tight-fitting cover for a day or two. In longer, add a cuit apple to keep center soft.
