Mom's Stuffed Franks

Ingredients

  • 1 package of bun length wieners ( 8 )
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 bottle spicy mustard
  • 4 slices Velveeta cheese
  • 1/2 cup sweet pickles ( finely chopped )

Preparation

Step 1

Line a baking sheet with foil. This will make cleanup easier later.
Arrange bacon slices on the foil and place the baking sheet on the center rack of the 400°F preheated oven. Close oven door.
Precook bacon for 5 to 6 min remove from oven and place on a plate and let cool until needed. Reduce temp to 350°F
Drain bacon grease from pan and place a cookie rack onto pan to place franks on to keep them from siting in grease while cooking.

1 First wipe franks dry with paper towel and place on cutting board
2 Slice franks lengthwise almost in half and spread them open.
3 spread spicy mustard inside the open franks from one end to the other
4 cut Velveeta cheese into 1/2 inch slices and place inside franks on
mustard ( 2- 1/2 inch slices per frank )
5 spread finely chopped sweet pickles on top of Velveeta cheese
6 Wrap 1 slice of precooked bacon around each frank and place tooth pick
at each end of bacon to hold together

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 45 minutes until bacon is done
remove from oven and serve
