Candied "Lava" Brownies

Ingredients

• 1 box of your favorite brownie mix (prepared according to package directions) or
• your favorite brownie recipe
• 2 tsp hot chocolate mix (no marshmallows)
• "LAVA"
• 1 1/2 Tbsp water
• 1 Tbsp butter
• 1 1/2 Tbsp cocoa powder
• 1/2 c confectioners sugar
• 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

Grease an appropriate sized baking dish for your brownie mix/recipe. Sprinkle hot chocolate mix around the bottom and sides and shake to coat liberally.

In a small saucepan, combine water and butter and bring to a boil. Whisk in the sugar and cocoa powder until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, set aside.

Meanwhile, mix brownie batter and pour into baking dish.

Drizzle chocolate mixture evenly over the top of the brownie mix. Bake as directed.
