Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 12 Lasagna noodles
  • 12 oz can tomato paste
  • ¾ cup water
  • 29 oz can tomato sauce
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ½ lb sausage
  • 3 Tbl chopped garlic
  • 2 Tbl fennel seed
  • 2 Tbl italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbl garlic powder
  • 1 Tbl garlic salt
  • 1 Tbl ground anise
  • 2 Tbl sugar
  • ¾ lb provel cheese ( shredded )
  • ¾ lb Monterey jack cheese ( shredded )
  • (mix the shredded cheeses)
  • ½ lb yellow American cheese ( keep separate )
  • Grated parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Brown ground beef and sausage then drain thoroughly.
Heat ¾ cup water and soak fennel seed

In a large saucepan heat tomato paste, tomato sauce, and strained fennel water

Add chopped garlic and all of the spices. Simmer for 1-2 hrs covered. (add more water as needed)

Parboil lasagna noodles for 7-8 min drain and set aside

In a large lasagna pan layer: sauce-noodles / sauce-cheese-noodles / sauce-meat-cheese/american cheese-noodles / sauce on top then cover with parmesan

Cover with foil bake @ 350 F 45-60 min until it bubbles
take out and let it sit for 15-30 min
