Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • One and a half cups chopped onion
  • Three garlic cloves minced
  • Two large eggs
  • Half cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • One and a half teaspoons of fresh marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 2 pounds ground Chuck hamburger
  • One and half cups fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • Half cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • One and a half tablespoons cider vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F
In a skillet over moderate heat add the oil until hot but not smoking add the onion and garlic and cook stirring until softened about five minutes set aside and let cool
In a mixing bowl whisk the eggs milk mustard and hot sauce together add Marjoram thyme salt and pepper
In a large bowl combine the meat eggs/milk mixture breadcrumbs parsley and the cooked onion mixture
In a small bowl stir together catch up sugar and vinegar and set aside
Form the meat mixture into an oil loaf PN brush with catch up blaze bake in oven for 45 minutes until glaze has sat brush meatloaf with remaining glaze and bake for 15 minutes more
