Popcorn: Old Dutch Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) bag puff corn
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Place puff corn in roaster.


To Prepare Carmel Sauce:


In a 2 qt. pan cook together for 2 minutes:
1/2 lb butter (not margarine)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
Add 1 tsp. baking soda to mixture.


Pour caramel mixture over corn puffs and stir until mixed. Place in a 250° oven for 45 minutes. Stir at least every 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and pour on waxed paper. Break apart.
