Toffee Brittle

Ingredients

  • 1 pound butter
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cups chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans or other nut

Preparation

Step 1

cook butter and sugar on high heat at a full rolling boil until mixture is caramel colored and a drop hardens quickly to a crunchy texture on a cold surface. Remove from heat and quickly spread on a cookie sheet with spatula, working fast before mixture hardens.

Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
