Christmas Hard Candy

Ingredients

  • 1 C water
  • 1 C light corn syrup
  • 4 C sugar
  • 1 dram Lorann flavored oil
  • food coloring
  • powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Put water, corn syrup and sugar in a pan on the stove. Bring to a slow boil (a fast boil will burn and need to be thrown away). Using candy thermometer, cook to hard crack. Remove from stove and quickly add oil and food coloring and stir. Quickly pour into prepared cookie sheets of powdered sugar with trenches made to pour in liquid. Cover with powdered sugar and as it cools, cut into small pieces.
