Banana Bread

This recipe is from Mrs. Melroy Milbrath. It appeared in the Worthington Handicapped Children's Center cookbook.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 3 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 5 T. shortening
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. bananas, mashed (about 4)
  • 2 T. crushed walnuts(optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture and stir. Add bananas and mix. Pour into greased bread pan. You may add crushed walnuts if desired.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 -2 hours.
