Black Forest Cake

Ingredients

  • Devils food cake
  • 100 grams cherry pie filling
  • 1 litre 35% cream
  • 500 grams whip topping
  • 300 grams chocolate shavings
  • 32 pieces maraschino cherries

Preparation

Step 1

Whip cream to firm peaks, whip the whip topping until stiff peaks. Fold cream and topping together. Set aside.

Cut cakes into layers. Soak layers with simple syrup and then place a layer of cream on top of the cake. With a tip pipe a rim around the edge of the cake layer then fill the center with cherry filling. Place a small amount of cream on top of the filling, then place another layer of cake on top. Repeat.

Soak the top layer with simply syrup and mask the cake. Pipe rosettes onto the top of the cake and place a cherry on the top of each rosette. Cover the center of the cake with chocolate shavings.
