Ingredients

  • 4 C. Bread - torn or cubed
  • Whole Wheat, Flaky Dinner Rolls, Italian Bread...whatever you have, just don't use pillow bread.
  • 2 cups of Fruit - chopped
  • Fresh - Apples or Peaches are good
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 14oz Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 3/4 C Hot Water
  • 1/2 Stick Butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Place torn/cubed bread and fruit into a large bowl. In a separate bowl put the other (custard) ingredients and mix well. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and fruit and let set for 20-30 minutes. Stir to make sure lots of the custard mixture is absorbed by the bread. Any excess custard makes a nice moist addition to the finished pudding.

Bake in a Buttered 13 x 9 inch dish @ 350 degrees until done (about 1 hour)
