Easy and yummy. Since I am not a cookie baker, they are nice alternative to give as gifts at Christmas! Great with beer and alcoholic beverages. Great for Sunday night football!more
teaspoon dried thyme, crumbled
teaspoon granulated sugar
teaspoon cayenne pepper (I use a mixture of cayenne and ancho)
tablespoons olive oil or canola oil
cups whole, raw walnuts or mixture of pecans and walnuts
Preheat the oven to 350°F and arrange a rack in the middle. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Place all ingredients except the oil and nuts in a large bowl and stir to combine. Add the oil and stir until incorporated. Add the nuts and stir until evenly coated. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10 - 15 minutes, stirring once, until golden brown and fragrant. Let cool on the baking sheet.
