Spiced Nuts

Easy and yummy. Since I am not a cookie baker, they are nice alternative to give as gifts at Christmas! Great with beer and alcoholic beverages. Great for Sunday night football!

Ingredients

  • 1

    teaspoon salt

  • ½

    teaspoon dried thyme, crumbled

  • 1

    teaspoon granulated sugar

  • ½

teaspoon cayenne pepper (I use a mixture of cayenne and ancho)

  • 2

tablespoons olive oil or canola oil

  • 2

cups whole, raw walnuts or mixture of pecans and walnuts

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350°F and arrange a rack in the middle. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Place all ingredients except the oil and nuts in a large bowl and stir to combine. Add the oil and stir until incorporated. Add the nuts and stir until evenly coated. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10 - 15 minutes, stirring once, until golden brown and fragrant. Let cool on the baking sheet.
