Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 c chicken broth
- 1/2 – 3/4 green cabbage, core, slice as if for cole slaw
- 1-2 yellow onions, fixed
- 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
- Onion powder – to taste
- Cayenne pepper- dash/to taste
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
- Apple Cider vinegar about 4 T
Preparation
Step 1
Brown the meat in a large pan with 1/8 c chicken broth; add minced garlic when apart completely browned. Season meat with salt, pepper, cayenne and onion powder. Add 1 T vinegar and finish browning. Add onions and sautéed until translucent. Add chopped cabbage and before mixing with meat, season well with salt, pepper and onion powder. You can add garlic powder if you feel it need more flavor. Once seasoned mix cabbage in with browned meat and onions, add 2T vinegar and about 1/8-1/4 c chick broth. Cover and let simmer. Continue to check and blend mixture until the cabbage is cooked down. Season as needed.
ou can serve in large cabbage leaves as a wrap or just eat as is; we like ours with mustard!
