Ingredients

  • For the Sausage Gravy:
  • 16 oz. sausage
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • Black pepper to taste
  • For the Biscuit Waffles:
  • (makes about 4 waffles in my big waffle maker)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 4 tablespoons cold butter
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

For the sausage gravy

Cook the sausage until browned. Add the flour and stir until well combined and continue cooking for about a minute. Add the milk and continue cooking and stirring until thickened. Add more milk if it gets too thick. Add pepper to taste. Reduce heat to low and simmer until ready to use.

For the biscuit waffles
